Play Insurance Companies off to get a Cheaper Car Insurance Quote
One of the most useful, yet under-used techniques to save money on car insurance is to play the insurers off against each other. The only way to do this is via the telephone, however, in some cases an online quote can be used to haggle down another company.
Some of the best companies for haggling with insurance prices are Adrian Flux, Endsleigh and Norwich Union. Most other insurers will also take part although the likes of Elephant, Admiral and Churchill are very reluctant as their quotes are very close to the lowest they will offer.
A friend of mine recently received his car insurance renewal through at the cost of £650. After phoning another big insurer he was offered a quote of around £600. He then phoned his current insurer again and they undercut this price. After a few phone calls his final renewal quote came down to a fraction under £500. Thats not a bad saving for a few phone calls.
